Ahutoru scritto anche Ahu-toru, Aoutorou etc. (Tahiti, 1740 circa – Tolagnaro, 6 novembre 1771) è stato un uomo tahitiano, fratello e figlio adottivo di Ereti, il capo del villaggio dove ancorò Louis-Antoine de Bougainville.
Ahutoru (c. 1740 – 6 November 1771) was a Tahitian man, brother and adopted son of Ereti, the chief of the village where Louis Antoine de Bougainville anchored. He became the foremost intermediary between the Tahitians and the French during the visit, and volunteered to accompany Bougainville on his journey back to France.
1 dic 2012 · Ahutoru was the first Tahitian to join the European continent. His journey began in 1768 as voluntary apprentice sailor on the vessel of the famous captain Bougainville . Bougainville arrived in Tahiti on April 2 and called the island « the new Cythera ».
18 gen 2019 · The Pacific « Prince », as Bougainville called Ahutoru (Aoutourou), the first Tahitian to set foot on European soil, also had an opportunity to discover a society – climate, customs, objects, architecture… – that were completely unfamiliar to him.

Originally from Raiatea, Ahutoru was about 30 years old when he made this crossing aboard the "Boudeuse". As soon as he set foot in France in the spring of 1769, he was the object of curiosity, often considered as a "good savage".
