Grace Elvina Curzon, Marchioness Curzon of Kedleston, GBE (née Hinds, formerly Duggan; 14 April 1879 – 29 June 1958) was an American-born British marchioness and the second wife of George Curzon, former Viceroy of India.
Lady Curzon (1879-1958), who was about forty-five when Sargent painted her, was born Grace Elvina Hinds, daughter of Lucy Triglia and Joseph Monroe Hinds, a career diplomat. During Hinds's term as United States Minister to Argentina, Grace met and married Alfred Duggan, a wealthy Anglo-Argentine with vast landholdings in South America.
Daughter of J. Monroe Hinds, United States Minister to Brazil, Grace Elvina was married firstly to Alfred Duggan of Buenos Aires. Widowed by Duggan, she then married secondly on 2 January 1917 to George Nathaniel Curzon, 1st Marquess Curzon of Kedleston (1859 -1925). Grace was the authoress of a book of Reminiscences.
