Thorbjørn Jagland (born Thorbjørn Johansen; listen ⓘ, 5 November 1950) is a Norwegian politician from the Labour Party. He served as the Secretary General of the Council of Europe from 2009 to 2019.
Thorbjørn Jagland er en norsk politiker (Ap) og tidligere statsminister, stortingspresident og utenriksminister. Han var også Europarådets generalsekretær fra 2009 til 2019, og ble tildelt Nobels fredspris i 2012.
Mr Thorbjørn Jagland was elected Secretary General of the Council of Europe in September 2009. In June 2014, he was re-elected, and his second term in office commenced on 1 October, 2014. He was the President of the Storting (Norwegian Parliament) from 2005 to 2009.
