Ernst Peter Wilhelm Troeltsch (/ t r ɛ l tʃ /; German:; 17 February 1865 – 1 February 1923) was a German liberal Protestant theologian, a writer on the philosophy of religion and the philosophy of history, and a classical liberal politician. He was a member of the history of religions school.
Vita e opere. Prof. di teologia a Gottinga (1891), a Bonn (1892) e a Heidelberg (1894-1915); dal 1910 prof. di filosofia nella stessa Heidelberg, quindi (1914) a Berlino. Dal 1919 al 1921 fu sottosegretario presso il ministero prussiano del culto.
