Peter Wittgenstein. Ludwig Adolph Peter di Sayn-Wittgenstein, noto in russo come Pëtr Christianovič Vitgenštejn, conte, poi principe di Sayn-Wittgenstein ( Pereslavl'-Zalesskij, 17 gennaio 1769 – Lemberg, 11 giugno 1843 ), feldmaresciallo durante le Guerre napoleoniche .
Enrolled as a sergeant in the Semyonovsky Regiment of the Imperial Russian Army at the age of 12 in 1781, Wittgenstein began actual military service as a Wachtmeister in the Life Guard Horse Regiment in 1789. In 1793 he gained promotion to Major in the Ukrainian light cavalry regiment.
Partito dalla logica e in particolare impegnato in una profonda revisione della teoria dei tipi di Russell, Wittgenstein inizia a introdurre nella propria riflessione alcuni elementi di diversa provenienza, etico-religiosa.
