Seti I (anche Menmaatra; in greco antico: Σεθῶν?, Sethôn) (1324 a.C. circa – 30 maggio 1279 a.C.) è stato un faraone della XIX dinastia egizia. Come tutte le date dell'antico Egitto, così anche quelle che concernono Seti I non godono di un'interpretazione univoca.

Secondo faraone della XIX dinastia, che regnò dal 1317 al 1301 circa a. C. Figlio del primo e padre del secondo Ramses, riorganizzò l'esercito e condusse una serie di fortunate campagne in Palestina e Siria, lasciandone il ricordo sui rilievi del tempio di Karnak.
5 set 2023 · Fin dal primo anno di regno Seti I si dedicò a ristabilire la sovranità egizia ripristinando la “Via di Horus”, strada che, partendo dalla fortezza di Tjaru, all’estremità orientale del Delta, terminava in Palestina, nei rilievi del tempio di Karnak sono ben dettagliate le numerose fortezze e pozzi che costellavano la strada.
28 nov 2022 · La tomba di Seti I, all’interno della Valle dei Re, è lunga circa 130 m, rendendola così la più lunga di tutta la necropoli. Al suo interno erano presenti rilievi e decori, splendidi e ancora oggi ben conservati. La sua struttura, inoltre, presenta ben 11 camere e stanze secondarie laterali.
