13 mar 2019 · Durante una festa mascherata, avvenuta nel 1712, rapì la bella diciannovenne Anna Sofia Reventlow (1693-1743), figlia del Gran Cancelliere e poco dopo la sposò segretamente; dopo la morte della regina Luisa la fece regina.
A seguito della morte della moglie, avvenuta il 15 marzo 1721, sposò Anna Sofia Reventlow, il 4 aprile 1721. Da quest'ultimo matrimonio nacquero tre figli.
Anna Sophie became Queen of Denmark in 1721. She was the daughter of the Great Chancellor Conrad Reventlow, and was married to Frederik IV. Anna Sophie met the King at a masked ball in 1711 and fell in love with him. The next year he abducted her and they entered a morganatic marriage.

Hun var i modsætning til alle hidtidige danske dronninger ikke af kongelig byrd, men datter af den adelige storkansler greve Conrad Reventlow til Clausholm .
