Robert Edmond Grant MD FRCPEd FRS FRSE FZS FGS (11 November 1793 – 23 August 1874) was a British anatomist and zoologist.
Robert Edmond Grant (1793 - 1874) was an Edinburgh-trained physician, who gave up the profession to study invertebrates. He was an early advocate of evolutionary thought (a strong supporter of Lamarck and his views), and cited Erasmus Darwin's Zoonomia in his medical dissertation.
ON Sunday, August 23, after an illness of about a fortnight, died Dr. R. E. Grant, for many years Professor of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy at University College, London.
