Karen Keskulla Uhlenbeck ForMemRS (born August 24, 1942) is an American mathematician and one of the founders of modern geometric analysis. She is a professor emeritus of mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin, where she held the Sid W. Richardson Foundation Regents Chair.

19 mar 2019 · Karen Uhlenbeck, whose seminal work helped launch an entire field of mathematics, was awarded the Abel Prize today in an announcement made from Oslo. The prize, created by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in 2003, is widely viewed as the mathematics equivalent of a Nobel Prize.
La cerimonia di premiazione avverrà a Oslo il prossimo 21 maggio alla presenza di Re Harald V. Karen Uhlenbeck. Nata a Cleveland il 24 agosto 1942, Uhlenbeck si è laureata presso l'Università del Michigan per poi specializzarsi al Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences a New York.
