Harry's Game is a British television drama mini-series made by Yorkshire Television for ITV in 1982, closely based on the 1975 novel Harry's Game by Gerald Seymour, a former journalist. Apart from brief scenes, it is set in and around Belfast during the Troubles .

Overview. A British Cabinet Minister is gunned down outside his home in London by a member of the Provisional IRA. Security protocols are activated, but the assassin evades them and successfully escapes to Belfast.
Having been accepted in Belfast, Harry plays a game of cat and mouse with the locals while the British government continue their own investigation into the assassination.

Harry is an undercover agent for the British army sent to Northern Ireland to infiltrate the IRA and find (and terminate) the assassin of a British Cabinet Minister.
This tensely realistic thriller from ITV was a terrifying game of cat and mouse, taking place in a civilian-occupied war zone, where one mistake could mean certain death. Adapted by former ITN journalist Gerald Seymour from his own novel, the three-part series was also shown as a 145-minute film.
