Torchy the Battery Boy is a British television series, the second produced by AP Films and Gerry Anderson, running from 1959 to 1961. Directed by Anderson, it was a collaboration with author Roberta Leigh, with music scored by Barry Gray, art direction from Reg Hill and special effects by Derek Meddings .

31 dic 2014 · Torchy the Battery Boy S01E1. The Very first episode of the Gerry Anderson series, about a boy with a battery inside him and a lamp in his head. This episode deals with Torchy's creation by Mr.Bumbledrop. Mr Bumbledrop creates Torchy to find the children's lost toys and his dog, Pom-Pom.
Soon after arriving back on earth, Torchy's battery runs down. He's discovered by Mrs. Meanie-Mouth, who takes him home as a gift for her rotten son, Bogey.

Torchy returned to Earth every now and then, helping Mr Bumble-Drop with his problems and teaching naughty children how to behave themselves. 26 episodes were filmed – like The Adventures of Twizzle – in the small ballroom of a large mansion house (Islet Park) on the banks of the River Thames at Maidenhead.
