Valerius de Saedeleer or Valerius De Saedeleer (4 August 1867 – 16 September 1941) was a Belgian landscape painter, whose works are informed by a Symbolist and mystic-religious sensitivity and the traditions of 16th-century Flemish landscape painting.

Enciclopedia on line. Pittore (Alost 1867 - Leupegem 1941). Studiò nelle accademie di Alost e di Gand; a Bruxelles, fu allievo di F. Courtens, con cui lavorò in Olanda. Esordì con paesaggi impressionisti, per ricercare poi uno stile più sintetico e largo. Opere nei musei di Anversa, Gand e Bruxelles.

Valerius De Saedeleer (1867 - 1941) Biography. As son of a soap-boiler, De Saedeleer was born in the folk district De Kat in Aalst. His father tried with little success to engage him in the family business. Without consulting anyone, he registered at the Ghent Academy for the Fine Arts, where he met George Minne and Théo van Rysselberghe.
