Sir Thomas Malory was an English writer, the author of Le Morte d'Arthur, the classic English-language chronicle of the Arthurian legend, compiled and in most cases translated from French sources.
Il libro di Malory è la traduzione e la fusione di varie leggende di quello che viene riconosciuto nell’Epica Medievale come ciclo arturiano o bretone. I romanzi che costituiscono questo ciclo si rifanno “storicamente” a re Artù, un condottiero vissuto nel V secolo, che si distinse nella difesa dall’invasione dei Sassoni.

12 apr 2019 · Sir Thomas Malory (c. 1415-1471 CE) was an English knight during the War of the Roses (1455-1487 CE) best known for his highly influential work of medieval literature, Le Morte D'Arthur regarded as the first novel in English, the first in western literature, and the most comprehensive treatment of the Arthurian Legend.
Scrittore inglese del sec. XV, autote della raccolta di leggende arturiane che venne pubblicata dal Caxton nel 1485 col titolo dì Morte d'Arthur. Se ne sapeva soltanto ll nome, e l'anno in cui scrisse il suo libro (1470), particolari forniti da lui medesimo.
