Saneatsu Mushanokōji (武者小路 実篤 (實篤), Mushanokōji Saneatsu, May 12, 1885 – April 9, 1976) was a Japanese novelist, playwright, poet, artist, and philosopher active during the late Taishō and Shōwa periods of Japan.

He served as Chairman of the Dramatic Literature Division of the Nihon Bungaku Hokokukai (Patriotic Association for Japanese Literature). After the war, he was removed from public office under the Occupation Purge. In 1951, he received the Order of Culture.

Saneatsu Mushanokōji was born in 1885 in Tokyo. His father was a viscount. He was a sickly child and focused on more intellectual pursuits, including literature. He went to Tokyo Imperial University, to study philosophy but did not graduate.
