Ada Limón (born March 28, 1976) is an American poet. On July 12, 2022, she was named the 24th Poet Laureate of the United States by the Librarian of Congress. This made her the first Latina to be Poet Laureate of the United States. She is married to Lucas Marquardt.
Ada Limón is the author of six books of poetry, including The Carrying, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry. Her book Bright Dead Things was nominated for the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award.
Limón is the host of the acclaimed podcast The Slowdown in 2021 and 2022 and lives in Lexington, Kentucky. Ada Limón became the 24th Poet Laureate of the United States in July of 2022.
