Mikołaj Rej z Nagłowic [a] (ur. 4 lutego 1505, zm. między 8 września a 5 października [b] 1569) – polski poeta i prozaik renesansowy, tłumacz, a także polityk i teolog ewangelicki, wójt urzędowski [2], poseł na Sejm I Rzeczypospolitej [3] .
Mikołaj Rej or Mikołaj Rey of Nagłowice (4 February 1505 – between 8 September/5 October 1569) was a Polish poet and prose writer of the emerging Renaissance in Poland as it succeeded the Middle Ages, as well as a politician and musician.

Mikołaj Rej, also known under his pen name, Ambroży Kurczbok Rożek, is a writer, poet, playwright and translator. Known as the father of Polish literature. Born 4 February 1505 in Żurawno, near Halicz, Rej died somewhere in autumn of 1569 in Rejowiec. He was a son of quite rich but illiterate nobleman of Oksza coat of arms.
