Dumas Malone (DEW-mah; January 10, 1892 – December 27, 1986) was an American historian, minister, and biographer. A professor by occupation, Malone spent the majority of his career teaching at the University of Virginia (UVA), where he served as the Thomas Jefferson Foundation Professor of History.

Dumas Malone, American historian, editor, and the author of Jefferson and His Time, a comprehensive six-volume biography of Thomas Jefferson. He edited the Dictionary of American Biography (1929–36) and Political Science Quarterly (1953–58) and served as director of Harvard University Press (1936–43).
