Sir Charles Sedley, 5th Baronet (March 1639 – 20 August 1701), was an English noble, dramatist and politician. He was principally remembered for his wit and profligacy. [1]

Sir Charles Sedley, 2nd Baronet, of Southfleet. There have been three baronetcies created for members of the Sedley ( otherwise Sidley) family of Kent, all in the Baronetage of England. All three creations are extinct.
Sir Charles Sedley — reputedly one of the wittiest (as well as one of the most scandalous) of the Restoration courtiers — has left a body of plays, poems and other works, none of which, however, is known to survive in his own hand.
