Metropolis è un film muto del 1927 diretto da Fritz Lang e basato sulla sceneggiatura realizzata da Thea Von Harbou. Il film è ambientato in un futuro distopico (nel 2026, ossia 100 anni dopo rispetto a quando è stato scritto) in cui le divisioni classiste sembrano accentuarsi.
