School Fees & Extras. The school fee includes tuition, board, lodging, and the cost of most games activities and the majority of educational materials. In addition, boys incur variable extras, e.g. charges for music lessons, optional insurances, boat club membership and school trips.
Broadening Access. Eton’s central purpose is the provision of education. Our comprehensive range of scholarships and bursaries ensure that talented boys from all financial backgrounds have the opportunity to benefit from an education at Eton. In 2020/21, 261 boys received fee reductions; 90 of these boys paid no fees at all.
Does the bursary ever cover extras? Depending on the parents’ financial circumstances, a bursary of 100% bursary may be extended to provide additional assistance in order to cover all reasonable school extras. This may, in certain cases, also cover the cost of uniform, laptop and the Acceptance Fee (£3,200 in respect of academic year 23/24). 6.

The Provost and Fellows of Eton College are committed to broadening access to the School by offering eligible parents means-tested, financial assistance with the payment of school fees. Such financial assistance is known as a bursary. A bursary is a reduction of fees up to 100%. The level of bursary award depends on the financial circumstances of the applicants.
