    The University has student exchange agreements with universities all over the world, including universities in USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, South Korea, Singapore, Mexico, Argentina and Chile.

    The School has student exchange agreements with universities in Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and USA.

    Students spending a year abroad are expected to take courses that correspond reasonably closely to the courses they would have taken in Edinburgh, both in terms of content and credit weighting (e.g. 60 European Credit Transfer Scheme points correspond to 120 University of Edinburgh points). The purpose of this handbook is to guide you through your International Exchange application, from your first thoughts of where you might like to go, through to the application process both to the University of Edinburgh and, should your application be successful, to the partner institution as well. Due to the UK’s departure from the Erasmus programme, arrangements with some of our European partners are still in progress.
