He appeared as a young Lex Luthor and Conner Kent in the superhero television series Smallville (2006–2011). In 2011, Grabeel released his debut extended play , Sunshine, and began playing Toby Kennish in the ABC Freeform drama series Switched at Birth , appearing until 2017.
