Most of his earliest recordings were as a sideman, when he contributed harmonica to songs by Chicago blues musicians such as Jimmy Rogers and Muddy Waters. [2] .

30 apr 2024 · Little Walter, American blues harmonica virtuoso who was one of the most influential harmonica improvisers of the late 20th century. He brought a singular variety of phrasing to the blues harmonica. His finest songs included ‘Juke,’ ‘Sad Hours,’ ‘Off the Wall,’ and ‘Can’t Hold Out Much Longer.’
Little Walter scored fourteen top-ten hits on the Billboard R&B charts between 1952 and 1958, including a second #1, "My Babe" in 1955, a level of commercial success never achieved by his former boss Waters. In the late 1950s, Jacob's fame and fortunes began to decline.
