Daryl Runswick (born 12 October 1946) is a classically trained English composer, arranger, jazz musician, producer and educationalist. Career. Runswick was born in Leicester, and educated at Wyggeston Grammar School for Boys and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. [1] .

Head of Composition at Trinity College of Music in London for 10 years before retiring, he has searched for a synthesis of the improvising skills of jazz with the more complex structures of concert music. Runswick began his musical life as a Cambridge chorister but quickly moved sideways into the jazz and pop world.
