29 nov 2023 · David S. Dockery, the tenth president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his wife, Lanese, have been married since 1975. Both are natives of Birmingham, Alabama, and grew up at Hunter Street Baptist Church in the central Alabama town.

David Dockery, professor of New Testament from 1988-1990 and 1992-1996, was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1952. After high school, Dockery studied at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Grace Theological Seminary, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Texas Christian University.
