Gardner Francis Cooper Fox (Brooklyn, 20 maggio 1911 – Princeton, 24 dicembre 1986) è stato un fumettista e scrittore statunitense. Gardner Francis Cooper Fox was born on May 20, 1911, in Brooklyn, New York. He is an American writer best known for creating many comic book characters for Comics in the Golden and Silver Age. He is believed to have written one more than 4,000 comics stories.
The character of Jay Garrick was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert. He first appeared in Flash Comics # 1, the pilot issue of Flash Comics, which was published in 1940 by All-American Publications. He was soon featured in All-Star Comics as part of the Justice Society of America.
Barry claims Gardner Fox's thoughts must have been tuned in to the events of Earth-Two. Garrick says he is preparing to resume being the Flash and describes for Barry three incredible crimes that were committed recently. These thefts were perpetrated by three of Jay's former adversaries, Fiddler, Shade, and Thinker, who have joined forces.
