Biografia. Lior Ashkenazi è nato a Ramat Gan da genitori ebrei sefarditi, emigrati dalla Turchia nel 1964. È cresciuto parlando come prima lingua, il ladino. Ha studiato recitazione al Beit Zvi, dove si è diplomato nel 1994, e ha lavorato molto nei teatri di Beersheba e Beit Lessin.

Lior Ashkenazi wurde als Sohn türkischer Juden in Ramat Gan geboren. Seine Jugend verbrachte er in einem Kibbuz. Seinen Wehrdienst leistete Ashkenazi ab 1987 bei den Israelischen Streitkräften bei der Fallschirmjäger-Brigade. Anschließend studierte er bis 1994 an der Schauspielschule Beit Zvi.
