9 mar 2018 · Westmere (WSM) was the microarchitecture for Intel's 32 nm process for desktops and servers. Westmere was introduced in 2010 as a process shrink of Nehalem which introduced a number enhancements. For desktop and mobile, Westmere was branded as 1st Generation Intel Core processors.
Nehalem / n ə ˈ h eɪ l əm / is the codename for Intel's 45 nm microarchitecture released in November 2008. It was used in the first generation of the Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, and succeeds the older Core microarchitecture used on Core 2 processors. The term "Nehalem" comes from the Nehalem River.
