Maj Sjöwall (Swedish pronunciation: [maj ˈɧø̂ːval]; 25 September 1935 – 29 April 2020) was a Swedish author and translator. She is best known for her books about police detective Martin Beck. She wrote the books in collaborative work with her partner Per Wahlöö.
He is perhaps best known for the collaborative work with his partner Maj Sjöwall on a series of ten novels about the exploits of Martin Beck, a police detective in Stockholm, published between 1965 and 1975.
Maj Sjöwall och Per Wahlöö träffades första gången i början på 1960-talet, då Per Wahlöö arbetade på tidningen Folket i Bild och Maj Sjöwall på tidningen Idun. Sommaren 1962 var första gången de samarbetade då Maj Sjöwall utförde redaktörsarbete på en bok som Per Wahlöö höll på att skriva.
Maj Sjöwall, född 25 september 1935 i Stockholm, [5] död 29 april 2020 [6] [7] [8] [9] i Landskrona, [10] var en svensk författare, journalist och översättare. Hon skrev bland annat Sjöwall Wahlöö -böckerna, författade 1965–1975 tillsammans med Per Wahlöö .
