Nithsdale, valley of the River Nith, Dumfries and Galloway region, southwestern Scotland. It comprises the western part of the historic county of Dumfriesshire and a small portion of eastern Kirkcudbrightshire. The valley’s upper end lies along the border with Ayrshire, where the Nith flows through.
