Rocky the Bull (officially Rocky D. Bull) is the mascot of the University of South Florida. He is an anthropomorphized bull who can typically be seen at athletic dressed in USF athletic gear--usually a football or basketball jersey, but occasionally other attire like a USF T-shirt .

Beloved mascot Rocky D. Bull has also changed with the times. He started life as a Golden Brahman in 1962. Realizing USF needed a mascot to engrave on its first class rings, the student government put the matter to a vote of all its 2,000-plus constituents.

7 apr 2021 · Despite being tabbed to finish last by Phil Steele’s Mascot Meter rankings, Rocky won the award, a show of how much support USF fans have for their beloved bull. The university also recognized how important Rocky is to its image going forward.
