Sōji Yoshikawa (吉川 惣司, Yoshikawa Sōji, born February 22, 1947) is a Japanese animator, scriptwriter, director of anime, and stage director.He has worked under the aliases Kazumi Takahashi (高橋 和美, Takahashi Kazumi), Kyōdō Oda (小田 経堂, Oda Kyōdō), and Haruka Kyō (京 春香, Kyō Haruka).
Directed by Sōji Yoshikawa, who co-wrote the screenplay with Atsushi Yamatoya, the film was produced by animation studio Tokyo Movie Shinsha and distributed by Toho. The film's plot follows master thief Lupin III , who attempts to foil Mamo ― a wealthy and powerful recluse seeking immortality ― while trying to win the affections of his rival and would-be lover, Fujiko Mine .
Director Sōji Yoshikawa spoke at length about the challenges faced by the creators of the show. He expressed concern as most video game to anime adaptations do not go well, but as time went on, he says he began to see a character with strength, and felt it could be successful.
