Sorø è un comune danese situato nella regione della Zelanda. Uno dei più importanti edifici presenti a Sorø è il monastero fatto edificare dall'arcivescovo Absalon intorno al XII secolo . Il comune è stato riformato in seguito alla riforma amministrativa del 1º gennaio 2007 accorpando i precedenti comuni di Dianalund e Stenlille .

Groundbreaking. 1142. ( 1142) Completed. 1201. ( 1201) Sorø Abbey was the preeminent and wealthiest monastic house in all of Denmark during the Middle Ages. It was located in the town of Sorø in central Zealand . After Denmark became Lutheran in 1536, the abbey was confiscated by the Crown.
