Die Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) in Sachsen-Anhalt mit Hauptsitz in Halle (Saale) ging 1817 aus zwei Vorgängereinrichtungen hervor. Die ältere wurde 1502 als Leucorea in Wittenberg gegründet.
