Sir Christopher Wren FRS (/ r ɛ n /; 30 October 1632 [O.S. 20 October] – 8 March 1723 [O.S. 25 February]) was an English architect, astronomer, mathematician and physicist who was one of the most highly acclaimed architects in the history of England.

In 2023 we mark the 300th anniversary of the death of Sir Christopher Wren, a visionary man of learning who built a new St Paul’s Cathedral. Rising from the ashes of the old Cathedral destroyed in the Great Fire of London, Wren made use of old stone but with new techniques and ideas.
