David Mark Joseph Morrissey (born 21 June 1964) is an English actor and filmmaker. Noted for the meticulous preparation and research he undertakes for each role, he has been described by the British Film Institute as one of the most versatile English actors of his generation.
Biografia. Nasce il 21 giugno 1964 a Liverpool, in Inghilterra. Rimasto orfano di padre, un ciabattino-ferramenta, quando era molto piccolo, cresce con la madre e i quattro fratelli. Per diventare attore studia prima recitazione all' Everyman's Youth Theatre della sua città e poi alla Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

He made an auspicious debut in One Summer (1983), a series about two Liverpool runaways. Following a degree at RADA, he worked with the theatre company Cheek By Jowl.
