Jean Lyndsey Torren Marsh OBE (born 1 July 1934) is an English actress and writer. She co-created and starred in the ITV series Upstairs, Downstairs (1971–75), for which she won the 1975 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Rose Buck.

Along with Harold Innocent and Terence de Marney, she is one of only three actors to appear in both Doctor Who (1963) and The Twilight Zone (1959). She was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2012 Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to drama.

Jean Marsh, OBE (born on 1 July 1934 in Stoke Newington, London) played Sara Kingdom in the Doctor Who story The Daleks' Master Plan (a role she has reprised subsequently in Big Finish's audio adventures).
Jean Marsh subsequently played the character of Sara Kingdom also for a short period of time before being replaced by Jackie Lane as Dodo Chaplet in The Massacre in 1966. Purves and Lane stepped down from their roles at around the same time and were replaced by Anneke Wills and Michael Craze who played Polly and Ben Jackson .
