17 mag 2019 · Though there may still be some hope for a sequel, I’m very doubtful about its possibilities. Our best guess is that in the unlikely scenario of the anime getting renewed, ‘Mirai Nikki’ season 2 release date could be sometime in 2021 or 2022. We will update this section as soon as we hear more.
The OVA ended with a small cliffhanger, but there is nothing left to tell. I hope there would be a short mini series in which the life of the diary owners in the 2nd universe is described. That would be awesome. I don’t really see a reason for there to be a season 2.
