For almost three months, from 8 May to 26 July 2024, 10,000 Olympic Torchbearers will meet French people in over 400 towns and cities, including five overseas regions (French Guiana, Reunion Island, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, and Martinique) before the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
The Paralympic torchbearers are selected directly by Paris 2024 and its ecosystem. During its campaign to nominate the Olympic torchbearers, Paris 2024 gathered interest from candidates to carry the Paralympic flame. The torchbearers were announced on 15 January 2024.
15 gen 2024 · Of the 11,000 Torchbearers (10,000 for the Olympic Torch Relay and 1,000 for the Paralympic Torch Relay), 80% have today received confirmation that they will be carrying the Torch on one of the two. The final identities will be revealed between now and April.
