23 ago 2020 · Questo The Yellow Sea, opera seconda del regista, l’ho trovata molto più godibile, un film bello, spettacolare ma estremamente intricato. La trama è lunga e coinvolge un gran numero di personaggi con dei nomi che per dei non-coreani possono essere assai difficili da ricordare e collocare a un volto.

Trama. A Yanji, nella prefettura cinese di Yanbian, lavora il tassista Gu-nam, un joseonjok. Egli, perseverando nel gioco del mahjong, inizia ad accumulare un grande debito, che va ad aggiungersi a quello che ha contratto per far emigare in Corea del Sud la moglie, della quale non ha più notizie da molto tempo.
