  3. In this paper, we propose a regularity theory of deterministic token causation. 1 The motivating idea is this: causation is deviant forward-directed inferability along the causal paths of direct non-redundant regularities. Building on Baumgartner's work, we aim to reduce causation to true propositions of particular fact and deviancy from norms.

  4. Abstract. This article articulates Regularity View of Causation (RVC) with an eye to two things: first, its conceptual development; second, its basic commitments and implications for what causation is. The article has chosen to present RVC in a way that respects its historical origins and unravels the steps of its articulation in the face of ...

  6. 9 gen 2008 · Regularity theories subscribe to the principle of determinism which stipulates that, if the same causes are instantiated, the same effects occur. Expressed in the regularity theoretic terminology that yields: Causes are sufficient for their effects, i.e. if AX 1 is a complex cause of B, AX 1 → B.

  7. 17 lug 2021 · This article discusses a regularity theory of causality (RTC) for the social sciences. With RTC, causality is a relationship between X and Y characterized by three features: (1) temporal order; (2) spatiotemporal connection; and (3) constant conjunction.
