First appearance:Giant-Size X-Men #1. When Wolverine joined the X-Men his suit remained relatively the same except for his mask, which was altered to have longer black ears and no whiskers, Wolverine kept this suit up until X-Men #138 where he started to wear his famous brown and tan costume.
He was created by writer Len Wein [2] and Marvel art director John Romita Sr. Romita designed the character's costume, but the character was first drawn for publication by Herb Trimpe. Since 2017, Marvel editor-in-chief Roy Thomas has also claimed co-creator credit.

25 ago 2018 · As de facto Art Director, Romita designed most of the major new costumes for Marvel characters at the time and Romita came up with the original Wolverine costume, which leaned heavily into looking like an animal (with whiskers on the mask and everything).
