Gennaio 2013 - Marzo 2020: Post-dottorato presso l’Harvard Medical School, Dipartimento di Chimica Biologica e Farmacologia Molecolare - Immune Disease Institute presso il Boston Children’s Hospital (Massachusetts, USA) sotto la supervisione della Prof.ssa Hao Wu.
18 set 2020 · Abstract. Inflammasomes are supramolecular complexes that play key roles in immune surveillance. This is accomplished by the activation of inflammatory caspases, which leads to the proteolytic maturation of interleukin 1β (IL-1β) and pyroptosis.

Recent studies suggest that TRPM2 is a calcium-permeable cation channel mediating ROS-dependent NLRP3 activation. Here, we review the role of TRPM2 in NLRP3 inflammasome activation and provide an update on new functional and structural discoveries.
