Hurrian primeval deities were incorporated into Hittite religion. Most likely they were received in the fourteenth century BCE from northern Syria or Kizzuwatna. Hittites were aware of the tradition of making offerings to them in pits, and possible examples of such structures have been identified during excavations in Hattusa.
