That is not to be confused with the word bayerisch, which refers to anything Bavarian (eg. “ein bayerisches Haus” a Bavarian house). Basically, Bairisch = language, bayerisch = anything Bavarian. 2. Bavarian is spoken across southern Germany and parts of Austria.
