The event was held at the Österreichring circuit in Austria on Sunday, 17 August 1975. Niki Lauda started on pole position for Ferrari and Vittorio Brambilla was declared the race winner in the March Ford when the Grand Prix was abandoned after 29 laps due to bad weather.
