Thousand of albums have been recorded at Ocean Way Recording, including some of the most iconic and best-selling albums in history. Over one billion album units have sold that were recorded at an Ocean Way Recording facility.
Ocean Way's Studio A has fans all its own, and it's been responsible for some truly enormous-sounding recordings from pop legends like Frank Sinatra, Lionel Ritchie, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Sheryl Crow.
In 1984, United Western Recorders was renamed and succeeded by Ocean Way Recording. Starting in 1999, the complex was divided into two establishments: Ocean Way Recording (now United Recording Studios) at 6050 Sunset and Cello Studios (now EastWest Studios ) at 6000 Sunset.
A Time Remembered is an album by double bassist Art Davis. His third and final release as a leader, it was recorded on January 14 and 15, 1995, at Ocean Way Recording in Los Angeles, California, and was issued later that year on CD and vinyl by Jazz Planet, an imprint of Classic Records, as the label's inaugural release.
