The current Ironman Hawaii course record was set in 2022 by Gustav Iden (Norway), whose winning time was 7 hours 40 minutes 24 seconds. Daniela Ryf (Switzerland) set the women's course record in 2018 with a winning time of 8 hours 26 minutes 18 seconds.

During the IM Hamburg 2022, Laura Philipp set the fastest Ironman time 8:18:20 with a 54:39 swim (1:26 min/100m), 4:31:14 bike (24.8 mph or 39.8 km/h), and 2:45:39 run (6:19 min/mi or 3:56 min/km). Looking not only at the Ironman branded events, Daniela Ryf has the “world record” on the distance.

After a 19-year relationship with the event, Dr. Bob Laird was inducted to the IRONMAN Hall of Fame in 2001. A finisher in 1988, Laird is the man responsible for developing medical protocols for the IRONMAN World Championship. The man known to most simply as "Dr. Bob" has helped improve the medical care IRONMAN triathletes receive around the world.
Career. Blummenfelt is the world record holder for the 70.3 distance, setting a time of 3:29:04 [4] in 2018 and both repeating the feat and bettering his own mark in 2019 with a time of 3:25:21. [5] . This was the third victory for him in as many years at the Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championships held in Bahrain.
