Maria Luisa di Borbone-Parma (Parma, 9 dicembre 1751 – Roma, 2 gennaio 1819) fu regina consorte di Spagna dal 1788 al 1808 come moglie del re Carlo IV di Spagna. Francisco Goya dipinse molti dei suoi ritratti.

Portrait of Queen María Luisa. 1790. Oil on unlined canvas. On display elsewhere. Upon the death of Charles III, Goya was asked to paint portraits of the new monarchs, Charles Bourbon IV and his wife, María Luisa of Parma.
Descripción. El retrato de la reina María Luisa de Parma, esposa de Carlos IV, es una obra muy interesante, pues si bien fue ejecutado en 1789, Goya lo dejó sin concluir, y lo modificó hacia 1799, modernizando la indumentaria, con un vestido estilo “imperio” y tocado en forma de turbante.

Description. The Portrait of Queen Maria Luisa of Parma, consort of King Charles IV, is a very interesting work. While it was painted in 1789, Goya left it unfinished, later modifying it in about 1799 by updating her clothes to give her an Empire-style dress and a turban-like headdress.
