Porth Nanven (grid reference; most well known as Cot Valley and occasionally known as Penanwell) is a beach in the far west of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is located half-a-mile west of the town of St Just .
30 ago 2018 · This unusual beach, roughly half a mile from St Just on the Penwith peninsula and Cape Cornwall, holds a secret of its own. Porth Nanven is also known as the ‘Dinosaur Egg Beach’ because it is covered in ovoid boulders of all sizes. These rounded stones were of course formed by the relentless power of the sea.
Top ways to experience nearby attractions. Porth Naven lies at the end of the tranquil Cot Valley, also on the south west coast path. It has a great sunset, which we were fortunate to witness, lovely views across to the Bisons. It’s mainly boulders and pebbles looks like dinosaur eggs, and low tide you do get some sand.

Known locally as Cot Valley, Porthnanven is a rocky little cove in the far west of Cornwall near Cape Cornwall. The beach lies at the end of a long, winding valley which passes from lush greenery to mining-scarred terrain. Just off the coast here are the Brisons - two large islets which are home to numerous sea birds.

Porth Nanven is a small beach at the bottom of a narrow valley called Cot Valley on the West Cornwall coast. The beach is covered with boulders but there is some sand exposed at low tide. The beach is also known as Cot Valley Beach. Safety: Signs warn of strong currents, large breaking waves and submerged objects.
